Welcome to Social Media Serendipity

Serendipity is a fortuitous coincidence.  That’s where I find myself as I decide to start a blog coinciding with my 10th anniversary with Mantis Technology Group…which is coinciding with what I consider an exciting product release: Mantis Pulse Analytics.

It is not my intention to heavily market our product (as cool as it may be).  In fact, I have setup this blog to be personal.  The viewpoints in these blog posts will be mine alone and do not necessarily correspond to a company view.

My intention is learning more about social media and watching its explosive and evolutionary growth.  I know I enjoy reading several bloggers who have a lot more polish than I do, and they always have interesting perspectives that engage the reader (me) and have ‘em (me) thirsting for more.  I plan on giving them the occasional “shout out” in my blog posts, so I hope you come to enjoy their blog postings as much as I do.

My schtick will be applying sports analogies to what I learn about social media (with the occasional cooking/grilling references which go hand-in-hand w/sports).  Expect to see references covering a full spectrum of sports: football, basketball, volleyball, baseball, tennis, judo and taekwondo.  I hope you even provide me more ideas to make this truly an interactive and engaging forum that helps us explain social media in terms a fan can truly appreciate!  Let’s see who can come up with the most obscure sport (curling…lawn darts/horseshoes…keg tossing) and come up with 5 parallels that sport shares with social media.  Just observe proper etiquette when presenting your ideas.

Finally, feel free to look me up on LinkedIn and Twitter.  The Follow Me Links are at the bottom of this page.
