Mantis Pulse Analytics – NFL Super Bowl 2012 LiveStream

I have some fun news – Mantis is doing it again! Similar to what we did with the World Series, we will have a Pulse Analytics LiveStream for the Super Bowl. In fact, you can pull up the map even days before the Super Bowl and watch the “scores”. Click on the picture below to get started, then wait a few seconds for the scores to start racking up. Hover or click on the team logos anywhere on the map to see what those fans have to say! And I apologize in advance for some of the strong language used by some fans :(!

The last couple times I checked it out, the New England Patriots would destroy the Giants regarding the number of tweets all over the world for the duration I watched. You Giants fans better get busy!

And good luck to both teams in the Super Bowl! Since I have no vested interest, I just hope for a compelling game with few turnovers, great special teams play, and quarterbacks keeping their eyes downfield for opportunities to make the game-changing play.

Let me know how you like the Pulse Analytics LiveStream. And cast your vote, in the comment section below, for the event you think we should LiveStream next!

  1. WOW! What fun, Brian. So why do you suppose the Giants are so far behind on tweets? Do they not have as many rabid fans or are they not social?

Will have to think of an event for you to track with your terrific Pulse Analytics.

Look forward to reading the post you create after the Super Bowl. A few minutes ago I was talking with a friend in CO who said you folks are expecting a big snow. Sounds like perfect football watching weather. Until later, my friend, aloha. Janet

    • Yeah, I heard about the snow – and wouldn’t you know I’m supposed to start smoking a pork shoulder around midnight tonight ;)?

I’m sure I’ll create a couple posts, one on my own blog, and I might have to create a 12 Most angle, right? Stay tuned for the 12 Most post I wrote for another major sporting event that comes out tomorrow afternoon.

Thanks for the comments regarding Pulse Analytics. We already do so many collections on professional sports teams, political candidates, major retailers — that is sometimes fun to come up with Live dashboards like this. FYI, it also looks great on an iPad!

Per our Facebook interchange, perhaps the Giants fans are such responsible employees that the are not tweeting as much during business hours? Of course, I checked it out close to midnight last night, and the Patriots fans were still “lapping” the Giants fans on tweets. I’m looking forward to seeing those tweets popup all over the world on Sunday. Perhaps even in Hawaii??

      Aloha, Janet.

  2. Here are some more usage instructions:
    • The map starts plotting social media mentions from people across the globe as soon as you load the screen
    • Mentions of each team are represented by their respective logos, based on the the location of the person who said it – we use Geo-tagging to tell you where they are located
    • You can zoom in like any normal Google map – switch between Map/Satellite – pan left/right or up/down
    • You can hover over or click on any mention to see what it says
    • Note: the map and counts will reset when you leave the page or click the “Reset” link on the top/right

Have an iPad – you can install it as an iPad Web-App too!
    • Go to Safari and load the URL
    • Go to the Bookmark menu and “Add to Home Screen”
    • The icon will appear on your iPad and now it will load without the Safari frame – Note: use it in landscape mode for best results

  3. This is cool! Gotta cheer for the AFC – Go Pats!

    • Thanks, Denise. We like to have fun with that Pulse Analytics monitoring! And I hope Lou enjoys it…perhaps he will show up a few times on the map during the game ;)? I hope people don’t just stop at looking at the picture – click it and go watch the tweet pushpins light up the map, and watch the “score”.

  4. I’ll be skiing BV the day of the Super Bowl, but we’ll be watching as we nurse our wounds of the day!
